There are many ways to participate in mission work around the world. Through prayer, through giving, or through your own participation on a mission trip, it is wonderful to see the Great Commission in action! For some of us, our greatest mission field will be our families, or our neighbors, or perhaps someone at work. Jesus said, “The field is white unto harvest.” What a blessing it is that He allows us to be a part of the growing of His kingdom. We hope that you are encouraged as you fulfill the role He has ordained for you in this!

Wycliffe Bible Translators
Vision
That God’s Word is accessible to all people in a language that speaks to their heart.
Mission
To see a Bible translation program in progress in every language still needing one by 2025.
The Nkeniso team is tasked with various jobs. Primarily this is translating the entire Bible into 2 Nkeniso dialects that we refer to as ‘east’ and ‘west’. In addition to translation, we are also involved with promoting literacy in Nkeniso so that people can read the translated scriptures. As the need arises, we are also involved with food aid, especially when there is a poor harvest year.
The Nkeniso translation team has 12 people: 6 Malians and 6 non-Malians. In translation the western team has 2 Malians and 2 non-Malians, of which I am one. The eastern team has 3 non-Malians and 3 Malians. There is a fair amount of overlap in our work, and some of us work in both dialects. The literacy work is headed up by a Malian and 2 non-Malians.
In translation, the western project has completed the Torah, and in 2024 we will have the entire New Testament completed and ready for publication. The eastern project is a few years behind the western project – the New Testament is projected to be complete in 2027. My particular New Testament books have all been approved for publication and so I am now working uniquely on the Old Testament. My efforts there are divided between the Psalms and the history books, currently Judges. Our plan for the Old Testament is to complete the Psalms and all the history books first (Judges – 2 Chronicles) and then tackle the prophets and the rest of the wisdom literature.
Prayer topics: As we are closing in on finishing up the New Testament in the western dialect, the Enemy seems to be working hard to trip us up. This is not unusual and is to be expected. Please pray for unity in our team. The political situation in Mali is also deteriorating. Pray for peace and a continued open door to work freely in Mali. At the same time, we praise God for the progress we have been able to make, despite difficult working conditions in a country whose dominant religion is sometimes hostile to Christian activities. Also, pray for good health for our team members, good rainfall and harvests.

California Southern Baptist Convention (CSBC)
Our Purpose
This Convention serves our culturally diverse congregations as we fulfill The Great Commandment and The Great Commission.
The Great Commission
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV).
The Great Commandment
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these” Mark 12:30-31 (NIV).
